COMPOSITION AND FORM OF ISSUE
An anthelmintic preparation in the form of a suspension for oral administration containing, as an active substance, 10% albendazole and auxiliary components. It is a suspension from white to pale cream color with a characteristic smell. Produced packaged in 1 liter in plastic bottles.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Albendazole, which is part of the preparation, has a broad spectrum of anthelmintic effect, is active against nematodes, trematodes and cestodes parasitizing in cattle. Albendazole is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration of albendazole in the blood serum is observed after 12 to 25 hours after application of the drug. The mechanism of action of albendazole is a violation of metabolism, inhibition of fumarret reductase activity and synthesis of ATP parasite, which leads to the death of helminths. By the degree of toxic effect on the body refers to low-risk substances, in recommended doses does not have a mutagenic, carcinogenic and locally irritating effect. It is excreted from the body mainly with urine and bile.
INDICATIONS
Deworming of cattle with diktiokaulez, gemmonhoz, ostertagiose, trichostrongileza, nematodirosis, cooperiose, esophagostomosis, moniesiosis and fascioliasis.
DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION
The drug is administered singly by mouth with a syringe dispenser, inserting the tip of the cannula into the corner of the lip and injecting the drug as deep as possible. Before use, the vial of the suspension should be shaken. For cattle with nematodes and cestodoses, the drug is administered at the rate of 0.75 ml for every 10 kg of animal weight, with fascioliasis - 1 ml for every 10 kg of the animal's weight.
ADVERSE EFFECTS
With proper use and dosage, side effects are generally not observed. Intoxication due to an overdose is almost impossible, since the safety limit exceeds a 5-time therapeutic dose. The maximum tolerated dose for oral administration is 7.5 ml for every 10 kg of the animal's weight. In case of mistaken administration of a higher dose, the animal may experience anorexia, sleeping sickness, weight loss, lethargy, a violation of the motility of the gastrointestinal tract. In this case, stop the injection and apply symptomatic treatment.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to the drug. It is not permitted to apply to pregnant cows in the first third of pregnancy, as well as to sick infectious diseases and a depleted animal.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Slaughter animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 14 days after the application of the drug. Meat of animals forcedly killed before the expiration of this period, can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals or for the production of meat-bone meal. Milk derived from animals treated with the drug is prohibited from being used for food purposes for 4 days after the administration of albendazole. Such milk can be used for feeding animals.
