Description
Porcilis PRRS is a vaccine based on the European DV strain of the PRRS virus. Intramuscularly or intradermal injections weakened live deformities of PRRSV results of DV in active immunization against PRRS virus infection. This activity is enhanced by the adjuvant Diluvac Forte.
Composition
Each dose of 2 ml (intramuscular application) or 0.2 ml (intradermal application) contains at least 10 4 TCID 50 of the PRRS strain of the DV virus. The active components are dissolved in Diluvac Forte.
Formulation
Live a lyophilized vaccine for reconstitution with a diluent of Diluvac Forte.
Indications
For the active immunization of clinically healthy pigs in a PRRSV contaminated environment, reduce the virusemia caused by infection with European strains of the PRRS virus.
Specific requirements:
For fattening pigs - respiratory tropism is relevant. A significant improvement in the results of upbringing (reduction in morbidity due to PRRS infection, and preferably daily growth and feed) until the end of the fattening period was observed in vaccinated pigs during field trials.
For breeding pigs - reproductive tropism is relevant. A significant improvement in reproductive productivity in PRRSV contaminated environment and a reduction in transplacental transmission of the virus after infection is observed in vaccinated pigs.
The interest in vaccinating Porcilis PRRS is to obtain a uniform and high immune status against PRRSV in the herd.
Vaccinations
Pigs for fattening
A single dose is given to pigs from 2 weeks of age and further. Pigs should be vaccinated at least 2-4 weeks before PRRSV infection occurs. It is recommended to vaccinate all target pigs in the herd from an early age recommended forward. A single vaccination is sufficient to protect before slaughter.
Breeding pigs
For swine (Re), vaccination 2-4 weeks before mating is recommended. To maintain a high level of homologous immunity, revaccination at regular intervals, is recommended either before, every subsequent pregnancy or at random at 4 intervals per month.
Pregnant sows should be vaccinated following previous exposure to European PRRSV.
New introduced PRRSV-naive animals (eg, repair gilts from PRRSv-negative herds) should be vaccinated before pregnancy.
Mode of application
2 ml intramuscular route or 0.2 ml per intradermal route. See Intradermal Appendixes.
A small, transient, intradermal lump observed after intradermal application indicates appropriate vaccination technique.
Withdrawal period
No one
Presentation
Vials from lyophilized vaccine containing 10, 25, 50 or 100 doses.
Storage
Store at 2-8 ° C. Protect from light. Adjuvant Diluvac Forte should be stored at 25 ° C.
Contraindications
Do not use the vaccine in herds where the prevalence of European PRRSV has not been established through reliable diagnostic methods.
Precautionary measures
• Only vaccinate healthy pigs
• Allow vaccines to reach room temperature (15-25 ° C) before use
• Shake the vaccine before and during use
• Use sterile syringes and needles
• The vaccine should be used within 3 hours after dilution.
