Using

For the active immunization of pigs, mumps, wild boars and fattening pigs as an aid in fighting pig face erysipelas.

Dosing and Administration

The dose is 2 ml per pig, given deep intramuscularly behind the ear.

Ensure that the vaccination of the equipment is clean and sterile before use.

Vaccination programs

Young growing pigs

Pigs should be at least 6 weeks old. Acourse of two inoculations given 4 weeks is recommended.

Breeding cattle

Primary vaccination: For the induction of protection against erysipelas, the initial course of two vaccinations given 4 weeks is recommended. If protection against parvovirus is required, this can be achieved with Porcilis Ery given either 4 weeks before or 4 weeks after, the administration of Porcilis Ery + is small. Boars and guinea pigs should be vaccinated against rhusiopathiae E. at least 2 weeks before mating.

Booster vaccination: sows and boars should be vaccinated against erysipelas at six monthly intervals. For sows, this can be during each lactation period, during weaning or during pregnancy (avoid the last two weeks).

Contraindications, warnings, etc.

Do not vaccinate unhealthy animals.

Do not mix with other vaccines or substances.

Other vaccines should not be administered within 14 days before or after vaccination with Porcilis® Ery.

Vaccination reactions usually consist of a small (0.5 ° C), transient (normal for 24 hours) increase in body temperature. Mild local swelling (less than 5 cm in diameter, normal for 3 days) and some reluctance to move can be seen in a very small part (less than 5%) of vaccinated animals.

Stress should be avoided by vaccinating animals, in particular at later stages of pregnancy.
