Immunobiological properties

The vaccine contains recombinant verotoxin 2e, which stimulates the development of active immunity against the VT2e toxin produced by the strains of Escherichia coli, the pathogens of swine edema in pigs. Vaccination induces the formation of protective seroneutralizing antibodies against the VT2e toxin.

Indications for use

The vaccine is used to actively immunize piglets from a two-day age to prevent mortality and reduce the clinical manifestations of edema and increase the weight gain before slaughter.

Active immunity occurs 21 days after vaccination.

Duration of immunity: 112 days after vaccination.

Seroneutralizing antibodies are detected until the slaughter of animals.

Contraindication

Should not be used in case of increased sensitivity of the animal to the active substance or adjuvant.

Interaction with other means

The safety and efficacy of using this vaccine in one day with PREVIRON (a complex of dextran iron) has been proved. The decision to use this vaccine before or after the administration of any other veterinary medicinal product should be taken by a veterinarian (veterinary surgeon).

Method of administration and dose

Intramuscular

Apply by single intramuscular injection in the cervical muscle in a dose of 1 ml to animals starting at 2 days of age.

Before use, it is necessary to shake the vaccine well and ensure that the room temperature reaches (15-25 ºC).

There may be insignificant inflammation at the injection site, which itself passes within three days after vaccination and does not require treatment.
