Application

California mastytnyy test (KMT) used for rapid assessment of the number of somatic cells in milk to detect mastitis. KMT also be used to verify somatic cells in milk after the treatment of mastitis.

Dosage

Instructions for using the tests:

1. Clean each teat separately.

2. Zdoyit first streams of milk.

3. Samples of milk from each udder quarter drop in individual wells milky control plate.

4. Remove excess amount of milk and leave 2-3 ml (about ½ teaspoon) for proper reaction with an equivalent amount KMT.

5. Add 2-3 ml KMT to each well.

6. Circular movements blend mixture into containers. At the same time watch the reaction changes the viscosity of the mixture. Read the result after 10 seconds. The reaction will disappear after a short time. In doubtful cases, repeat the test.

7. Gently wash the wells after each use.

Evaluation:

A negative result, the solution remains liquid, blue / gray and uniform. No clots. Result: no mastitis.

Weakly positive results: a slight thickening of the solution and the reaction may disappear (approximately 10 seconds). The result: a suspicion of mastitis.

POSITIVE: condensation, the solution may be similar to gel. Result: mastitis.

Strongly positive: a mixture zatverdivaye gel acquires a particular shape and becomes very sticky. Result: mastitis.

Contraindication

KMT should not be used to study colostrum, and no earlier than 3 days after calving. KMT should not be used during the dry period. KMT - a laboratory test, the results of which can not be put final diagnosis, but results KMT very likely indicate the state of udder studied in animals.
